Hay bales and fairytales

Since 2021 we have been collaborating with the Tuke family, presenting Opera productions and gala performances in the grounds of Wyke House. Our first official production was Acis and Galatea in 2022, which also represented our first collaboration with Maggie Faultless’ ensemble, Music for a While. The Fairy Queen followed in 2023, hailed by one reviewer as “an impressive and hugely enjoyable evening, undoubtedly enhanced not only by the superb performances but also the lovely rural setting and relaxed ambiance.” In 2024 we took our first steps away from Wyke Champflower, transporting our very well-received Opera in the Orchard gala to the equally exquisite grounds of Hartfield House in Hampshire. Future plans include more gala performances in and around the South West as well as a more fully-realised production of Dido and Aeneas. Watch this space!
